The captain suggests the newcomer leave with him, but he decides to stay. Like so, the captain left him for one year.
On the first day on the island, he discovers a diary of a former meteorologist in his cabin. In the diary, he wrote about some unknown creatures. At night the man is attacked by those mysterious blue-skinned creatures. They come from the sea. But luckily, he survived by hiding under the ground cellar. As soon as daylight dawn, they flee.
The next day, he goes to Gruner to allow him inside the lighthouse, but he refuses. Therefore, he returns to the cabin and prepares for the creatures.
At night the creatures again attack his cabin, and he also starts protesting on behalf of saving a life. Middle of these his only shelter burnt in fire and he hides in a cave.
The next day, he encounters a feminine creature. The man almost goes attacking her but suddenly Gruner comes into the place and introduces the creature, named Tame. Gruner explains that once he saved her life, Tame accepted him as master. No matter how cruel he becomes, Tame never protests nor even leaves. At night when Tame screams, other creatures come to redeem her. Next Gruner executed them and later consume them as food. According to Gruner, these creatures endure nothing but fish.
Under those circumstances, Gruner introduces him as ‘Friend’ to Tame and allows him to live inside the lighthouse.
Day by day Friend discovers Gruner is not only cruel but also physically & sexually abusive to Tame. The creatures are also civilized as a human under the sea and they try to ensure their rising generation is safe. That’s why they want to prevent humans.

At first, Friend does not like to kill them but later for surviving on the awkward island he becomes used to killing the creatures & eat them.
Friend grows to attract Tame and names her Aneris. They become physically involved and Gruner discovers that.
One day Friend sights a ship in the sea, and he goes shooting a rescue flare but Gruner prevents him. Gruner becomes furiously angry with Friend and is about to dispatch him. But Aneris releases him. Therefore, Aneris starts gaining confidence, and the revolution begins.
One night they kill many creatures at night. The following day Gruner goes outside the lighthouse and starts slaying the rest of the injured creatures. On this spot, Gruner exposes that he found Aneris trapped in a net in the sea. He practically wrecked her, but she thought Gruner saved her life, and after that Aneris stayed with him.
After hearing this Gruner & Friend both hear a loud weeping and Aneris disappears.
Later at night Friend finds a creature child at sea beach. He tries comforting him and wants to end up the rebellion. Aneris recovers the place. She looks more confident & matured.
Suddenly Gruner approaches and kills the child by shooting. This triggers the ultimate chaos. They attack Gruner altogether and literally shredded his body.
The scene cuts to a few days later when the weather observers’ duty ended and the ship comes to the island.
The captain mistakenly addresses Friend the lighthouse keeper Gruner. But Friend does not correct him. Therefore, Friend now decides to stay on the island as Gruner did in the past and the cycle continues.
