* * * Spoiler Alert – If you haven’t seen the movie yet, turn back now! * * *

The film starts with a young girl Clarie at an orphanage in Raccoon city. She wakes up and sees a woman is moving in the corridor. Clarie wakes up Chris who is her brother. But Chris tells her to ignore it. Then he starts sleeping again.

Claire walks toward the woman but a scientist William Birkin sees her and is taken back to her bed. Then Claire tries to go back to sleep and suddenly the woman approaches her and grabs Claire’s face.

The woman is Lisa Trevor who is experimented on by Dr. William Birkin. He is a scientist of Umbrella corporation. During the experiment, Lisa lost her face and became weird-looking.

Dr. Birkin takes care of the orphanage children but his real purpose is to use them for his experimental research.

Tonight Lisa informs Claire that Birkin chooses Claire for the next experiment. So, Claire has no other option left without fleeing away and she does it.

Clarie is now grown up and returning to Raccoon city by truck. There is a truck driver and his dog also moving towards the city. Suddenly a woman comes to the middle of the road and the truck badly hits her. Claire & the trucker go to check the lady but they become astonished by finding no one in the spot without a lot of blood.

The dog notices that after the accident the woman stands alone and walks away as nothing happened with her which is quite similar to zombies. So the dog barks and on the spot, it licks some of the blood.

As Claire looks into the woods, she sees the woman staring back at her in a frightening way.

After a while, they begin to move again. The dog is drooling excessively and has his eyes become icy. Trucker tries to calm down his dog, but it bites so hard on his hand.

The Umbrella Corporation is described as one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. Nevertheless, their operations have recently moved from Raccoon City. There are a few remaining staff members, as well as the poor who cannot leave the city.

The scene changes to Leon Kennedy who is a Stars Alpha Team officer in Raccoon City. Leon goes to a diner where a few other officers are hanging out. They are Albert Wesker, Jill Valentine, Brad Vickers, and Richard Aiken.

There is another group of two officers Kevin & Merini who start to taunt Leon. Then they call to investigate the Spencer Mansion. After that, the rest group of the four officers leaves the place.

The diner has a waitress named Louise. She notices that Leon is looking at Jill and she tells him that Jill’s eyes are more similar to Wesker’s eyes. After that Louise starts crying. But strangely her eyes tears drop of blood. Leon asked her about her eyes and she replied it has been happening for a few weeks.

Finally, Claire comes to Chris’ home. He is now a cop too. Claire says she came back to find a man named Ben Bertolucci. He has been in contact with her as an informer of the city. But she can’t contact him for the last few weeks. Claire tells Chris that Ben informed her of very confidential news about Umbrella corporation. The whole city is now under their experiment. Umbrella has started poisoning the city’s water supply.

Chris blows her words just another conspiracy theory.

Scene changes at Birkins’ home where Sherry wakes up screaming. She is Birkin’s daughter. Birkin & Annette rapidly move to her room and try to comfort her.

At that time, Birkin gets an emergency call and he tells Annette & Sherry to leave immediately. An emergency siren then goes off all over the city.

Claire notices a neighbor with a sickly son. Claire goes to check on him. Suddenly, the woman bursts in and attacks Claire. Claire blows her off and runs away on a motorcycle. She rides until William almost hits her.

At the police station, Chief Brian Irons gathers all of the officers. Dooley and Merini haven’t gotten in touch with them since they visited the mansion. So he sends two cops to find them. Leon is ordered to remain at the front desk.

A message appears on Wesker’s beeper telling him to go to his locker. He finds a Palm Pilot with a message from his secret employers that Raccoon City will be destroyed by morning.

Now the trucker is fully infected. It rolls over just before the police station. The vehicle explodes into a fireball. Leo misses because he falls asleep wearing headphones. The trucker enters engulfed in flames. However, Irons shoots him to death. Leon is ordered to extinguish the dead trucker and close the gates to the station before Irons leaves alone.

Chris and the STARS agents arrive at the mansion. Vickers stays behind in the helicopter while the others make their way inside. A van carrying Dooley and Merini is found overturned. Jill also shoots a crow that has become infected. When they enter the mansion, everything has been destroyed.

In town, Irons sees armed guards keeping people at bay. Irons is forced to drive away to safety after they open fire on two infected civilians. When he returns to the station, he enters the parking garage, where two infected dogs find him. Irons shoots one but runs out of bullets before the other comes after him. Claire arrives just in time to kill the dog. Leon shows the two that are infected are trying to break through the gate.

Chris and Aiken find an infected man biting into Merini’s neck in the mansion. The infected find them and kill Aiken as Chris tries to fight them off. Jill and Wesker discover a secret entrance to an underground lab. Vickers is killed by the infected moments later, and the chopper crashes into the mansion, but Jill and Wesker are unharmed. Jill learns that he was working for someone else to steal William’s G-virus from the mansion’s lab before eventually fleeing the city before it is destroyed. Wesker leaves Jill behind to complete his mission.

Claire and Leon arm themselves, while Leon walks down to the cell where Ben is locked up. Leon tells Ben he can leave and even threatens him by grabbing his gun, but an infected man in the cell next to him kills Ben and Leon shoots the man. Claire finds Ben dead and is upset. In addition, the infected break through the gates, prompting the three to flee the station.

Claire hides out in the orphanage with Leon and Irons. They find the woman Claire saw as a child, whose name is Lisa Trevor. Claire and Leon are attacked by another mutated infected creature, a “Licker”. The Licker kills Irons, but Lisa can jump on it and snap its neck. Lisa then gives Claire and Leon the keys to the secret passage, and even calls Claire by name. They discover footage of kids that William experimented on.

The infected Dooley goes after Chris as he wanders the mansion, but he reunites with Jill and they can escape. They leave the city after she tells him about Wesker.

Wesker finds the lab, but the Birkins have already arrived. Wesker orders William to give him the G-virus, but William grabs a gun and fires at him, prompting him to shoot William. Annette is given the gun, and Wesker shoots her in the head in front of Sherry before the girl gets the gun and aims at Wesker. Jill shoots Wesker, who appears to die from his wounds. Chris and Jill get Sherry out of there, unaware that William has injected himself with several vials of the virus, and he is mutating.

As he mutates into a hideous abomination, William stalks Chris and Jill. Claire and Leon find them and shoot William in the eye. On a train, Chris, Jill, and Sherry make their way out of the city. William mutates into the monstrous Nemesis, however, and breaks into the train. Leon grabs a rocket launcher and blasts William to smithereens once and for all. A nuke is then dropped on Raccoon City. Despite no survivors, Claire, Chris, Jill, Leon, and Sherry all make it out of the train tunnel alive.

Wesker wakes up in a body bag during the credits. A woman named Ada Wong offers him the chance to work with her and gives him his dark sunglasses.
